Ashtavakra Gita - Chapter 1, Verse 6 teaches that the soul is neither the doer nor the experiencer. The verse emphasizes the eternal freedom of the self, unaffected by dharma, adharma, pleasure, or pain, which belong to the mind. Ashtavakra reveals to King Janaka that the ego creates the illusion of being the doer and enjoyer, but the soul remains liberated beyond dualities.
